preorder info
how do preorders work?
preordering through shopify is easy! preorders function just like normal orders, but your order won't be shipped in the usual time frame; generally, preorders will ship out a few weeks or months after they reach their funding goal.
please note that if you purchase regular items and preorder items in the same order, your ENTIRE order will ship out once your preorder items arrive!
the basic timeline for preorders is something like this:
- preorders open: you're able to purchase a preorder item, which helps fund the production costs & gets us one step closer to our funding goal!
- preorders close: generally, i like to keep preorders open even after we reach our funding goal, so they won't actually close until a few weeks to a month later, depending on how many orders we get!
- ↪️IF THE FUNDING GOAL IS REACHED: the preorder product enters production!
- ↪️IF THE FUNDING GOAL ISN'T REACHED: your order is refunded to you automatically, either in full or partially (if your order included multiple items, not just preorders).
- preordered items are shipped to me: once production completes, the preordered items are shipped to me by my manufacturer!
- your items are shipped to you: the final step! once the products are in my hands, your order can be fulfilled (alongside any other items you ordered) -- this is when you'll get a tracking number sent to your email. keep an eye on the mail! ✉️
when will i be charged?
you will be charge up front for the entirety of your order; this is to prevent confusion on both your end & ours, especially if you're ordering both preorder items as well as regular shop items. plus, your purchase is going directly towards helping fund the production of the products you're ordering!
what if you don't reach your funding goal?
if we aren't able to meet the funding goal for the items during a set period of time (generally, a few weeks to a month), your order will be fully refunded automatically -- you don't have to do a thing!
note that if you placed an order with a mix of preorder items and regular shop items, this will NOT cancel the remaining items in your order -- if your preorder items are canceled, the rest of your order will proceed to be shipped as normal!
if a preorder item you ordered doesn't meet its funding goal and you'd like to cancel your entire order, please contact me directly at nicholaskp.art@gmail.com so that i can assist you!
is it safe?
i'm happy to let my track record speak for itself -- through a site called backerkit, i've successfully funded & fulfilled multiple crowdfunding campaigns over the years! when it comes to preorders specifically, i've completed multiple successful preorders on the other online shop websites i used prior to migrating to my new store.
